Itinerary and services (per day)

Our mountain expeditions include the following services:

Aconcagua

  • Mountain guide (Spanish / English) 4:1
  • Transfer IN airport – hotel
  • Private transfer (Hotel Santiago – Entrance to Aconcagua Provincial Park – Hotel Santiago)
  • 2 nights in a 3-star hotel in Santiago
  • 2 nights in a shared cabin at Las Cuevas (includes breakfast)
  • Mule transport of up to 30 kg per person. Stops at all campsites
  • Full board and accommodation at Plaza de Mulas and Confluencia base camps
  • Porters for common expedition equipment and food
  • Shared use of the high-altitude dome
  • WiFi in Confluencia and Plaza de Mulas
  • Use of restrooms at base camp
  • Showers at base camp of your choice
  • Waste management
  • Permit management
  • Equipment rental advice

Ojos del Salado

  • Mountain guide (Spanish / English )
  • Private transportation to climbing areas (4WD)
  • Transfer airport – Laguna Verde BC
  • Transfer OUT hotel – airport
  • 1 hotel night in Copiapó (1 room per 2 persons)
  • Mountain tents (1 tent per 2 persons)
  • Dinner tent (with table and chairs)
  • Cooking kit
  • All meals within the expedition (Breakfast, box lunch, dinner)

Our services do NOT include

  • Personal mountain equipment
  • Traveling and rescue insurances (Mandatory)
  • Porter for personal equipment
  • Climbing permit in Aconcagua (Consider USD 1000 approx)
  • Transfers to and from the airport
  • Dinners and lunches in Santiago or Copiapó or Las Cuevas
  • Food and beverages not mentioned in the program
  • Domestic and international flights or any other services not mentioned in the program, such as restaurants, beverages, laundry, tips, etc.
  • Costs incurred due to evacuation or abandonment of the activity (for example: rescue, evacuation, porters, accompanying guides, accommodation at base camp, etc.) It must be paid before the evacuation.

High Mountain is NOT responsible for:

  • Personal services (laundry, snacks, drinks, meals in restaurants, etc.)
  • Personal mountain equipment
  • Expenses incurred in rescues or early abandonment of the expedition.
  • Delays due to flights or any form of transportation, which are your responsibility.
  • Weather changes that may affect the expedition.

Clothing and proper equipment

In order to avoid any injury we strongly recommend to all the expedition members to have the mountain equipment described below. Each piece of the equipment will help us on the summit day, which may be terribly cold (even -20ºC /-4ºF). The proper equipment is crucial to achieve our goal.

Upper body parts

  • Sun hat
  • Wool hat
  • Balaclava / ski mask
  • 4 long-sleeved base layer shirts
  • 2 or 3 short-sleeved base layer shirts
  • Polar windstopper, soft-shell or similar
  • Waterproof jacket (Gore Tex, Triple Point, or similar)
  • Warm down feather parka with hood
  • Second layer of fleece or primaloZ (Thin)
  • Polypropylene gloves
  • Waterproof gloves
  • Down feather mittens ( -25 ºC / -13ºF)

Down body parts

  • 2 polypropylene long underwear (or similar)
  • Trekking pants
  • Softshell pants 
  • Windproof pants (Gore Tex, Triple Point, or similar)
  • 4 pairs thin socks (Liners)
  • 4 pairs of thermal socks
  • Gaiters
  • Trekking boots (approach)
  • Double or triple boots (for example LaSporCva G2, LaSporCva SpanCk, Scarpa
  • Phantom 6000 etc.)

Personal equipment

  • Trekking poles (telescopic)
